Magmadive Expeditions all over Iceland

Viti & Askja Lake

Askja is one of the most spectacular sights in Iceland and has to be seen to be believed! To get there, you must travel cross-country, to the centre of Iceland. Where the earth is alive with fire, smoke, ash and dust! After a visit to the Askja caldera the expedition will continue over black sand deserts to the nearby Holuhraun. Known as “the new volcano”. This magnificent lava field was formed in a fissure eruption originating from the Bárðarbunga volcano. It covers and area of 85 square km. And is the largest eruption in Iceland for 200 years.

In true Magmadive style, we’ll be diving  at the best sites known to man. Along the way, you’ll get to dive at Silfra and Strytan, two well-known spots renowned for their geological wonder.

We drive to Northern Iceland in-a 4×4 vehicle fitted with all terrain tires, and plenty of spare gas. There’s some river crossings along the way, not to mention some of the most spectacular scenery you’ve ever seen.
